Michael Jackson feat. Jay-Z - ‘You Rock My World’

This my homage to Michael Jackson, and it’s not even my favorite rap remix from this album (Invincible)— he had a version of ‘Butterflies’ with Eve on it that is pretty bananas.

Random MJ memories:

I saw him in concert in Korea (the Michael Jackson and Friends show) in 1999, when I was in high school; it was a pretty good billing that included: Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, some other groups, and a local pop group.
In 2001, my freshman year of college, despite ridicule from my hallmates, I remember staying in on a Wednesday night to watch MTV premiere the video for ‘Rock Your World’ starring Chris Tucker (they were pretty close at the time, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?!” lol) and Marlon Brando.
In 2003, Maya Angelou’s 75th birthday party was thrown by Oprah Winfrey (BFFz!!) in Winston Salem. I was working for a catering company that did parties like that and it was a whole weekend of activities. On that Saturday night, there was a dance party type thing and Quincy Jones was there and I got to see him dancing/bobbing his head to ‘Rock With You’ and ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’. Also, Oprah drinks like a horse, Jack on the rocks at like 11am, pretty awesome.

I haven’t really been that into food lately*, as usually happens when it gets warm, but this sounds f-ing awesome. Getting that Ko ressie is going to be bonkers.

*Next month I’m going home to Tennessee for a week (overall Southern food, Chick-Fil-A, Chick-Fil-A sauce, Waffle House) and then LA a couple of times (Katsuya [in the valley not West Hollywood], Kogi Truck, and good Korean bbq), so I think that could get me back into the eating game

The 76ers go back to their old logo (with minor tweaks)

There was a span of time when a lot of franchises thought that they had to modernize and over-complicate their logos, and make them look more 3D and what not to reach out to the kids. The most recent 76ers logo was part of that movement, see also: the Buffalo Sabres, the Denver Broncos, etc. So it’s good to see teams realize that a lot of the older classic logos actually look a lot better.

(The Golden State Warriors should adopt this idea, as should the Nuggets, Cavs, and some other team to be named later, because I’m really tired.)
