KFC’s Sauceless Hot Wing: A cautionary taleAfter having seen about a million commercials for these (“Didn’t see that one coming.”), I finally got myself over to a KFC to try them. As someone who really likes fried chicken, I had some pretty high expectations, I mean if you’ve seen the commmericals, you know that they make them look really good. Unfortunately, as I took down a ten-piece, I was very disappointed. Even for KFC standards, this shit was not very good. The chicken didn’t have too much kick and rather than being some sort of sauceless wonder, they were pretty much just regular chicken wings. So, you win this time advertising group working with KFC. I really didn’t see that one coming.Worse news: they’ve started closing all of the Popeye’s in the city, or at least the two that I used to go to, the Tribeca one and the East Village one. Is there no good fried chicken left in this city? (Excluding Korean fried chicken obvs)
