The GOP Response To President Obama

Since about 12am, I’ve spent the last three hours watching the President’s address on healthcare and reading up on what the reactions from the pundits have to say on the matter. That being said, I don’t really have an opinion that’s worth/appropriate for sharing in this sort of forum (a silly blog about sneakers, popular rap music, and food), but I did want to put up this video of the GOP response that seemed so ridiculous, especially juxtaposed with the speech by President Obama. I mean, it almost looks like a parody video doesn’t it?

Now, I’m not trying to be super biased or anything (and TBH, I’m not even sure if I agree completely with what the President is proposing), but it’s really hard to imagine even a staunch, far right supporter being thrilled that this is the counter that the GOP is presenting, both thematically— “let’s start over” rather than actual alternatives— and how it’s articulated.

Also, I thought that between this rebuttal, the “You lie” outburst, and the obnoxiously partisan things that Barney Frank had to say on Rachel Maddow (essentially: “the Right is just a bunch of dumb idiots”), all of politics is pretty discouraging, because of so much poor communication and counterproductive, misguided agenda.
