Silicon Alley breaks down the economics on making money with 'QuarterLife' (the new MySpace webisode TV show).
The one thing that seems really off to me is the idea that it’s just one episode 44-48 minute episode broken down into
chunks, the logic of someone waiting a week to watch six installments of, the equivalent to, a pilot seems really unlikely.
There are other aspects to the math being done here that also don’t make sense to me, but I’m sure that the returns on ‘QuarterLife’ aren’t as dire as they make it seem— not to mention that if the production is only $500k, who cares, it’s NewsCorp, they have money to burn.
